We are a Husband and Wide (Randy & Nicole) Chef team from New Orleans, Louisiana USA. We bake & ship authentic American restaurant quality China-wide. We are physically located in Shanghai on Chongming Island.
Upon arriving in 2015 baking wasn’t a thought, let alone a business! After some persuasion by friends and realizing we also missed the taste of homemade desserts we began sending our homemade Brownies, Blondies, & Cupcakes to friends across China. Cupcakes & shipping was a horrible idea, we’ve since perfected the art of shipping our desserts so they arrive fresh & delicious. Since then we’ve expanded to offer various flavours of both Brownies & Blondies along with Sweet Rolls & Soft bakes Cookies on our standard menu while also offering seasonal selections. With a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts & a combined 26 years working in American Hotels & Restaurants Suga’hai is sure to be everything you’ve been missing from home & more!
We originally decided on the name “Fleur De Sweets” as homage to our hometown of New Orleans. A “Fleur De Lis” is our Football team logo and we are DIEHARD Saint’s fans… if you didn’t know! Lots of people, both Foreign & Chinese assumed we sold French desserts. We decided to relaunch under the brand “Suga’hai” as a homage to the great Southern desserts we ate growing up. “Suga” is used as a term of endearment in the American south as “Dear” or “Hun”. Often people experience a feeling of euphoria or “high” after eating succulent baked goods and we love our new home in Shanghai. Hence Suga’hai was born. Homage to both of our homes.
We bake using the finest ingredients available. We import ingredients as well as sourced locally here in China.
